Whitman Elementary School kicked off its 50th
anniversary celebration on Thursday morning, September 3, 2015 at 8:45 a.m.
with a ribbon cutting and celebratory presentation. All members of the Whitman
faculty and staff wore their 50th anniversary t-shirts to
commemorate the occasion. 4th grade teacher, Kimberly Haines,
cut the ribbon to begin our year of celebratory activities as planned by
our Anniversary Committee with the support of our Whitman Home and School
Council. Ms. Haines was a student at Whitman Elementary in 1965 when the
school opened and continues her dedication to the school by enriching our students here as a teacher.
Upcoming events to commemorate the celebration will be
publicized as they are planned.
