High-Energy Competition!
Wedgwood Elementary School Hosts High-Energy, Fifth-Grade Team-Building Event
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The voices were loud, the cheering able to be heard throughout the hallways at Wedgwood Elementary School on Friday, March 15th. The school’s fifth-grade classes split up into eight teams and took part in a team-building challenge led by new physical education teacher Jenna Wehrle. Inside the gym, the “Minute to Win It”-style games involved all the participants, with the school’s fourth-graders serving as the audience. Each of the eight teams also had a staff member, which raised the stakes even more.
Wehrle’s idea with the competition was to add a little energy and fun, while also teaching the students about working as a team and showing good sportsmanship. While teams earned points for completing each of the eight challenging events, they also scored bonus points for acting sportsmanlike, helping their teammates and cheering enthusiastically.
