WTHS Celebrates “Flannel Friday” as Part of “Manuary” Month-Long Fundraiser
Though the ongoing pandemic has sidelined some of the fun traditions of Washington Township High School’s “Manuary,” a month-long celebration and organized fundraiser throughout January, four members of the school’s Senior Class Council -Sean Alminde, Connor DiTullio, Matt Koerner, and Vinny LaRosa - have organized several events to keep the tradition alive. On January 14th, the group promoted “Flannel Friday.” Next Friday will have them dressing in track suits.
Manuary volunteers spend time each Friday soliciting donations during the school’s lunch periods. All Manuary proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
“These four students came together to organize a coin drop collection every Friday in January and chose the charity that will benefit from their efforts,” Class Co-advisor Deanna Ettore said. “They have organized different themes to demonstrate unity among volunteers who are collecting donations for St. Jude’s.”
