CRMS FutureActs Students Get Creative in Hyping District’s Upcoming Helping Hands Hoagie Sale
FutureActs students from Chestnut Ridge Middle School spent time on January 19th working on posters that will displayed throughout the building to draw attention to the District’s upcoming Helping Hands Hoagie Sale.
Since COVID protocols will not allow student-volunteers to assemble and sell hundreds of hoagies as in previous years as part of the Washington Township Public Schools’ Annual Helping Hands Hoagie Sale, Liscio’s Bakery owners and operators Chad Vilotti and James Liscio have agreed, for a second consecutive year, to sponsor a promotion that will allow the District’s largest fundraiser to continue. The Hoagie Sale, sponsored by the Washington Township Education Foundation and hosted historically on Super Bowl Sunday, celebrates its 28th year in 2022 and benefits local families who are facing medical setbacks and related financial hardships.
As part of the partnership, Liscio’s will sponsor a promotion that will have 25 percent of all Hoagies and Hoagie Trays – purchased in any of its area locations from Monday, February 7, 2022, through Tuesday, February 15, 2022 – donated to the Helping Hands Hoagie Sale fund. Additionally, Liscio’s will be taking donations at its locations in Cross Keys (3321 Route 42, Sicklerville), Wedgwood (373 Egg Harbor Road, Sewell) and Glassboro (124 S. Delsea Drive, Glassboro) to further bolster the bottom line.
Liscio’s patrons wishing to support the cause will be able to present a QR code at the time of purchase through the duration of the promotion. The QR code also will be posted at all in-store registers. When a customer’s sale includes the QR code, the system will tabulate 25 percent of the sale and earmark the funds for the Helping Hands Hoagie Sale.
Chestnut Ridge Middle School sixth graders Giuliana Roach and Alexa Redman display their hoagie posters.
CRMS seventh-grade students Arianna Silva shows off her finished sign.
Sixth grader Trevor Szilier’s poster will bring attention to the Hoagie Sale.
