Artist Michael Albert Makes Virtual Visit with OVMS Students
New York-based collage and modern pop artist Michael Albert made a virtual visit with Kelly Lynd’s art students at Orchard Valley Middle School on January 17th, sharing how he got his start in art and encouraging the students to pursue their own interests and passions.
Albert, who originally entered college at New York University as a business major, literally turned his trash into art when he discovered that his cereal boxes would not fit in the trash shoot. He began collecting the boxes, cutting them to make his collage art. Albert shared a scaled down photo of one of his largest pieces of work and even revealed some brand-new artwork the world has yet to see.
“My students loved the interaction, asked great questions and even had an opportunity to share their work that was inspired by Mr. Albert’s art,” Lynd said.
