Washington Township Board of Education Recognizes Retiring School District Physician Dr. Ted Koerner
Members of the Washington Township Board of Education and District administration took time at their July 27th public meeting to recognize the contributions of Theodore G. Koerner, D.O. Dr. Koerner recently retired from his 34-year stint in service to the District as its school physician.
The Board lauded Dr. Koerner for his knowledge, expertise and unwavering interest in the health and well-being of the District’s students, student-athletes and special education population. Dr. Koerner’s careful review of health examinations, physicals and comprehensive health appraisals ensured that generations of students could safely attend, participate and thrive in school and school activities.
“Ted is a man who deserves to be recognized, along with this wife, Lucille, because they have given so much to our community,’” Superintendent of Schools Joe Bollendorf said, in making the presentation. “Not only has he been the doctor for the school district, he has coached countless sports teams in Washington Township. He is a generous spirit who understands the importance of giving, of volunteering, and of trying to make a direct difference in the lives of our kids. We are going to miss him, and we can’t thank him enough.”
