WTHS Celebrates Senior Art Show Winners
Washington Township High School proudly celebrated senior artists who were winners in the school’s annual Senior Art Show. Visitors to District Art Night on April 7, 2022, were invited to voted on submissions by senior artists. To be considered, the seniors must have completed at least two high school art classes and be enrolled in an advanced art course. Roughly 500 people cast votes in the process, selecting from a variety of art media from watercolor to digital animation.
First-place honors went to Kendelyn Welsh for "The Choice" (ink and watercolor). Katherine Kaltwasser earned second place for "Life in Death" (gouache). Third-place recipient Armani Roman was lauded for "The Eye of the Lizard" (colored pencil), and Lily Richards received honorable mention for "E=MC2" (digital artwork).
“WTHS art students display incredible talent, drive, and creativity,” WTHS art teacher Christi Serra said. “These students have a passion for art that shows through their unique artwork. Some of our winners have already been accepted into art school and will move forward in art as a career. We are so proud of each and every one of our artists.”
