Hurffville Elementary Fourth-Graders Invite Group of Washington Township Police Officers to Special Tribute
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Hurffville Elementary School continued its month-long tribute to the Washington Township Police Department, with the school’s fourth-grade classrooms inviting several officers to the school for a celebration on Friday, May 18th.
During the month of May, Hurffville is running a program called “Adopt a Cop,” where each of its classrooms invites a difference officer to visit their room for a special thank you. On Friday, they were lucky enough to set up a visit from many men and women in blue.
On hand were Sgt. Eric Caveng, Capt. Ken Kennedy, Det. Mike Longfellow, and Officers Gary Egizi, Vince Fulginiti, Rebecca Wood and Lawrence Achey. They were entertained by fourth-graders who read poems and tributes to them. At the end of the program, the students had a chance to ask the officers questions before sharing a treat of soft pretzels.
