Bunker Hill Middle School used the backdrop of March Madness to let loose during an hour of fun team-building activities on March 15th. After an eighth-grade three-on-three basketball tournament the previous evening, the winning trios teamed for an eight-minute three-on-three championship in front of the whole school. The afternoon also included several skills competitions with selected teachers and students. The madness concluded with a grade-level wing-eating contest. The adult team of Julie Lyons, Len Sanders, Shawn Dudley, Pat Goliszewski and Saumil Prasad easily captured the crown, polishing off 50 wings from PJ Whelihan’s in the fastest time.
Bunker Hill Middle School assistant principal Dr. Greg Muscelli had the crowd acknowledge seventh-grader Maddie Nesmith, who won the free throw and layup shooting contest.
BHMS eighth-graders Brady Roberts, Matt Buonocore and Chris Logiovino, “Team Cold Cuts,” won the 3-on-3 championship game by an 8-2 score.
Special law enforcement officer John Hamilton competed in the three-point shooting contest.
