Washington Township High School Plans Virtual Dance Party for Friday, March 27th at 3 p.m.
After two weeks of diligent remote work by teachers and students alike, Washington Township High School principal Jonathan Strout and members of the school’s Student Council are asking the groups to come together in celebration on Friday, March 27th at 3 p.m. for “Virtual Dance Party.”
A first-ever effort by the school, the #twpvirtualdanceparty will be hosted live on Instagram via
via @wthsstucotwp Instagram account.
“The concept is simple,” Strout said. “A DJ will be playing live with streaming video of him from his house. Kids will be logging on and chatting in the live feed, sending emojis, shoutouts and messages (all filtered, to keep it appropriate for a school sponsored activity), and the DJ will be playing fun music, giving shout outs, and spreading the positive energy to help us celebrate our kids and our staff.
” All that kids can see in terms of video will be the DJ,” he continued. “However, there will be times when the DJ will share his screen also to show live some of our staff and other VIPs. We thought organizing something like this was so important for students and teachers alike. We are all missing each other. It is will be positive. It will be fun. It will be a celebration on Township and all that we stand for together.”
