Going for the Win!
Orchard Valley Middle School Physical Education Classes Creating Collage for Red Ribbon Week Competition
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Physical education students at Orchard Valley Middle School are getting into the spirit of Red Ribbon Week, which is ongoing from October 19-23, 2020. A national awareness program, Red Ribbon Week affirms a commitment to living drug free.
In the OVMS PE classes, students are taking part in the Red Ribbon Campaign’s National Red Ribbon Week’s Photo Contest. Each day, the classes are creating photos featuring themselves, a large-scale red ribbon, and this year’s slogan: Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug Free. At the end of the week, OVMS teacher Ashley Johnson will help create a picture collage to enter in the nationwide competition. Regional winners can earn $1,000 for their school.
School-level competition categories include: Most Creative School; Best Use of School; Best Use of Theme; Most Ambitious; and Most Education. For more information, go to redribbon.org/contest.
