WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Bunker Hill Middle School recently celebrated a richly successful Latin American Food Festival. All seventh-grade Spanish classes, led by Mrs. Clarissa Marin, engaged in an enriching experience, exploring foods and recipes from various regions of Latin America and Spain.

The festival was a vibrant culmination of their learning, featuring authentic recipes prepared by students. The cafeteria transformed into a lively community, complete with decorated stations representing different countries, where students showcased their research and culinary skills. Popular dishes included flan, empanadas, churros, steak tacos, and more, all presented in Spanish.

Additionally, some students added to the event by performing authentic Spanish songs, contributing to the festive atmosphere. Ada Marano performed the National Anthem of Puerto Rico, and Samantha Waddington sang “Preciosa” by Marc Anthony.

“This event was a success thanks to the collaboration of BHMS parents and the enthusiasm of our students,” Mrs. Marin said.
