Washington Township High School’s “Shrek the Musical” Earns 14 Nominations in BergenPAC High School Musical Awards

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Cast and crew members of the Washington Township High School Way-Off Broadway Players have received 14 total nominations in the BergenPAC High School Musical Awards for their performance in “Shrek the Musical” this spring.
The BergenPAC High School Musical Awards were created to recognize the hard-working and incredibly talented high school theater performers and crews throughout the state.
“We want to celebrate the achievements and accomplishments of all our students in the northern New Jersey region,” BergenPAC Executive Director Alexander Diaz said. “The stars of tomorrow will shine brightly on our stage today.”
The WTHS production of Shrek the Musical was nominated for the following awards:
- "Special Feature" (Dragon, Horse, and Gingy)
- "Best Lighting Design" (Shawn McGovern)
- "Best Sound Design" (Sophia Meares, Joy Umeh)
- "Best Hair & Make-Up Design (John Rattacasa)
- "Best Costume Design" (Tina Heinz and Tina's Productions)
- "Best Orchestra" (Casey Corigliano)
- "Best Actor in a Female-Identified Feature Role" (Savannah Cox as Dragon)
- "Best Musical Direction" (Amy Flynn)
- "Best Direction" (John Stephan)
- "Best Actor in a Male-Identified Supporting Role" (Sonya Tereshko as Pinocchio)
- "Best Actor in a Male-Identified Supporting Role" (Zachary Buono as Lord Farquaad)
- "Best Actor in a Male-Identified Leading Role" (Presley Terch as Shrek)
- "Best Actor in a Female-Identified Leading Role" (Annabelle Corigliano as Fiona)
- "Outstanding Overall Musical"
Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on June 2nd at 7 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
