"Titan" from "Omega Man Productions" Delivers Powerful Anti-Bullying Message to Birches Students
Swarms of super-heroes, costumed students and staff alike, gathered at Birches Elementary School on October 5th for an energetic, visual and powerful anti-bullying assembly from “Titan” of “Omega Man Productions.” The interactive assembly was a culminating activity for the school’s Week of Respect.
“Titan,” aka Joe Johnson, a former football player from North Alabama, captivated his audience, delivering important lessons on making positive choices, building character, setting goals and treating others with respect, all while showcasing superhero-strength like ripping a phonebook in two, bending steel with his teeth and snapping a baseball bat over his leg. He also lifted students over his head and carried students, and one fourth-grade teacher Paul Rodrigo – on his back.
These feats of strength were used as object lessons that reinforced the multi-message presentation, including how to be a hero (Helping Everyone Respect Others), be a buddy not a bully, be a dream-maker and not a dream-breaker, be an upstander and not a bystander.
“Every day, we have an opportunity to be great,” Titan told the enthusiastic audience as he encouraged them to embrace superhero qualities. “Every single one of you has a dream, a talent, a gift and a goal. You are 100-percent perfect, and you are designed for a purpose. You need to let go of your bad choices and hold on to your dreams. You need to reach down inside of yourselves and pull out the hero that is inside of you and help others out along the way.”
Birches first-graders Skylar Greco and Mikaeli Bramble entered the assembly in their superhero garb.
Birches fifth-graders Sean Tarsatana, Luke McKenty and Abdullah Hassab-Alla welcomed classmates into the assembly with anti-bullying posters.
