WTHS Goes Retro: Plans Pep Rally
It will be throwback Friday on October 12, 2018, when Washington Township High School first-year principal Jonathan Strout, his administrative team and student leaders stage an old-school pep rally for students and staff beginning at 1 p.m. in Tom Brown Stadium. The pep rally will serve to elevate school spirit and emotions leading into the evening’s football showdown with rival Williamstown High School at 7 p.m.
Students will be color-coordinated by grade and will enjoy competitions by level in a fun afternoon that will include the introduction of all fall athletic teams and performances by the marching band, dance team and cheerleaders. Inclement weather will move the event to Friday, October 26, 2018. All students will be dismissed from the stadium at the end of the day.
“We haven’t had a pep rally of this magnitude in years at WTHS,” Strout said. “I want our students to feel a connection with this school, to have a sense of camaraderie and togetherness. This is a fun way to end the school week and celebrate all of the things that make this a special place.”
