Incoming Washington Township High School freshmen and their parents turned in old devices, completed paperwork, and left with brand new Microsoft Surface Go convertible laptops in hand on the first day of the District’s laptop deployment on August 6th. The 1:1 mobile devices are intended to service the students through their entire high school career.
The sleek, compact laptop gives students the flexibility of a removable, magnetic keyboard and a stylus pen that allows for inking documents when the device is being utilized as a tablet. The device is lighter and easier for the students to use and transport, with a better battery life.
Members of the Information Technology department and building secretaries worked to move students through stations on Tuesday. Once in possession of their devices, the students were able to log on and ask any questions of Microsoft professionals who also were on site to troubleshoot and facilitate.
Two additional distribution sessions are planned on August 7th and 8th.
WTHS freshman Joe Agosta was happy to have laptop in hand.
WTHS freshman Jaiden Ekstrom and his mom, Heidi, completed the distribution process.
