OVMS Celebrates Veterans in Its Extended School Family
Orchard Valley Middle School eighth-grade students recently created a Veterans Recognition Wall in the school to celebrate those who have served the country as part of the OVMS extended family. The project was organized by eighth-grade class advisors Joy Shaffer and Dan Jedwabny.
OVMS families were invited to share a photo of a loved one who has served, or who is currently serving, in the Armed Forces. Members of the eighth-grade class organized the printed photos, attached each to colored frame, and added the service member's name, branch of service, and their family connection to OVMS.
“Our Veterans Recognition Wall Display will remain in place for the duration of November as a beautiful tribute to the bravery, teamwork, and sacrifice of the veterans in the OVMS Family,” Jedwabny said. “We extend our thanks to the OVMS community and staff for participating in this project.”
