Community Shows Out in Support of Thomas Jefferson Elementary School’s “Candy Cane Lane”
With unexpectedly high winds threatening their festive blowups and decorations, the Thomas Jefferson Elementary School staff made a last-minute decision to move their “Candy Cane Lane” outdoor drive-through holiday event inside on December 11, 2021. The event, organized by the school’s PTO, encouraged families to make their way through colorful displays, to drop off letters to Santa and to show support for the school pantry. The community did not disappoint.
“We had an incredible turnout,” TJ principal Gary Breen said. “Before the doors opened at 6 p.m., there was a steady line of families that lasted until 8 p.m.”
