Washington Township Education Foundation Plans Long-Awaited Return to the Links at 24th Annual Golf Classic

WTEF  A sunny afternoon of fun, friendship and golf will be a welcomed reprieve from the grips of a yearlong pandemic when the Washington Township Education Foundation hosts its 24th Annual Golf Classic on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the White Oaks Country Club in Newfield, N.J.

The outing will be hosted, rain or shine. Registration and lunch will precede a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start for the scramble-formatted outing.  A two-hour open bar, dinner and an awards ceremony, along with prizes and giveaways, will complete the afternoon. All proceeds will directly benefit the Washington Township Public Schools.

Individual golfers can register at a cost of $125.  Sponsorship opportunities, including $125 hole sponsorships, and special prices for corporate foursomes are available.  To obtain a registration form or to secure additional information, please contact Classic Chairman Gary Knight at 856-816-2199, or Publicity Chairperson Jan Giel at 856-589-6644, x6550 or via email at

“The WTEF golf outing annually reunites long-time supporters of our organization and the Washington Township Public Schools,” WTEF president Charlie Doud said. “In addition to offering a great afternoon of camaraderie and competition, the event generates a lot of monies to fund and support programming for our kids. We were canceled by COVID last spring but are hopeful and anxious to resume our event and catch up with our many friends and benefactors.”

Proceeds from the WTEF 24th Annual Golf Classic will be used to offset the cost of numerous worthwhile WTEF activities and sponsorships.  Since 1996, the WTEF has diversified educational opportunities for over 7,200 students who attend Washington Township schools.  To date, the WTEF has donated more than $600,000 to bring in noted professional and multi-cultural programs, establish the Renaissance Program at WTHS, and to fund a student art gallery, dance studio and greenhouse.  In addition, the WTEF has supported the High School Marching Band, Project Graduation, issued 500 mini-grants to staff members and upgraded the sound system at Tom Brown Stadium.

Not a golfer?  Individuals still can lend their support to the Golf Classic by attending a post-golf reception for a cost of $45 or by making a tax-deductible donation.
