    As the principal of Hurffville Elementary School, I am honored and privileged to serve the Hurffville community. At Hurffville, we work tirelessly to provide each student with the tools and resources they need to be successful in life. I am incredibly proud of our Husky team, which includes our dedicated curriculum supervisor, Mrs. Alisa Palazzi, and our talented teachers and support staff. Together, we create an environment that fosters collaboration and encourages each child to reach their full potential. Our focus is on developing the whole child, and we do so by cultivating a positive learning environment and setting high expectations for our learners. 


    I am a proud product of Delaware State University. I graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University. I also completed my Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, authoring Examining the Effectiveness of Creative Curriculum for Preschool on Kindergarten Readiness. As a result, I hold New Jersey standard certifications as a Principal, Supervisor, and Elementary School Teacher (K-6). Additionally, I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. These experiences have allowed me to develop a wide range of skills that have been invaluable in my career. 


    After launching a professional career in broadcast journalism, I transitioned into elementary education in 2007 as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional. In 2008, I began teaching Kindergarten and second grade at Lindenwold Public Schools. During my time with Lindenwold, I completed my principal internship, managed Extended SchoolYear (ESY) programs, authored ELA and Social Studies curricula, and analyzed assessment data to develop school improvement plans. After leaving Lindenwoldin 2017, I became the Assistant Principal of the Dr. Geraldyn O. Foster Childhood Center in Bridgeton Public Schools. I led initiatives to improve inclusive practices, mixed-age classroom models, preschool through third-gradetransition practices, and Creative Curriculum. 


    Through our district’s vision and mission, we strive to promote a safe, inclusive environment that embraces differences and provides various experiences to help ALL students build an academic foundation that will develop critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, social and emotional intelligence, and the confidence to be an ethical, responsible, and productive citizen in a global society.
