It's Hoagie Time Again!

WTPS to Host 31st Annual Helping Hands Hoagie Sale on Super Bowl Sunday – February 9, 2025

For Immediate Release
January 17, 2025

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township’s wildly successful and treasured tradition, the annual Helping Hands Super Bowl Hoagie Sale, is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. The event is set for Super Bowl Sunday, February 9, 2025. Student and staff volunteers will team at Washington Township High School to build and sell hearty, one-foot hoagies – and 36-piece hoagie trays – in support of the District’s signature fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will continue to benefit Washington Township families who are facing medical setbacks.

“We are called to serve in some capacity, and Washington Township understands this,” District Director of Community Outreach Mike D’Ostilio said. “Each year this district embarks on a massive Hoagie Sale to support children and families in our district with significant medical setbacks. The Washington Township Education Foundation, the Washington Township Schools, and Washington Township Municipal Services join forces every year to sell hoagies and raise between $35,000 and $50,000 for identified families and individuals in need. We hope to make this the best year ever.”

Organizers are asking all parents, students, staff, and community members to get involved. The easiest way to take part in the event’s success is to purchase a hoagie. This year we are offering 12-inch Italian hoagies for $10 each, and 36-piece hoagie trays (serve approximately 10-12 people) for $60. But the organizing committee and WTEF gladly accepts donations and sponsorships, as well. Donations can be made to the WTEF’s Venmo account (@WT-ED-FOUNDATION) or by using the hoagie order form.

Additionally, this year the hoagie sale includes the same promotion as last year: Each hoagie that is PRE-ORDERED will earn the purchaser a ticket into a great raffle. The random lottery will offer prizes from local businesses in and around Washington Township. Purchase your hoagies at this link. All pre-orders submitted by February 6th are eligible for the drawing.

“The power and compassion of our community to help others in need is what makes the Washington Township Helping Hands Hoagie Sale so special and successful year after year,” WTEF President Tiffany Orihel said. “We look forward to our community stepping up again buying hoagies to help support those who have had medical setbacks and need our help! Get out there and buy a hoagie or two!”

Hoagies and trays can be picked up at Washington Township High School, off the Ganttown Road entrance, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on February 9th. All checks should be made payable to the WTEF and can be mailed to Heather Sullivan, WTEF Vice President, 206 East Holly Avenue, Sewell, NJ 08080.
