WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Orchard Valley Middle School’s counseling department recently recognized sixth-grader Lukas Lotsey as the 2024 Golden Pretzel Award winner.
Each year, the OVMS counseling department holds a challenge during Random Acts of Kindness Week. Panthers can complete a chart tracking their kind acts and submit the chart to the office. OVMS school counselors then randomly select one of the hundreds of completed charts, and that student wins the Golden Pretzel Award.
As part of Lukas’s recognition, school counselors Sarah Doherty, Natalie Marakowski, and Dan Jedwabny hosted a celebratory lunch for Lukas and his four invitees. They chose a menu of pizza, spicy sweet chili Doritos, and lemonade.
The Golden Pretzel will be displayed in Lukas's homeroom for the duration of May, and then will be returned to the OVMS trophy case, with a photo of Lukas, until 2025.
The school counseling office would like to thank all 300-plus Panthers who participated in the Random Acts of Kindness Week Challenge.
