Washington Township High School Band Students Perform with Honor Bands

 

 

Washington Township High School band students, under the direction of band director Calvin Spencer, have been celebrated over the past several months as auditioned members of several area honor bands.

 

Honors Band

 

On January 15th, junior Jack Crawford and senior Christian Heil performed with the South Jersey Wind Ensemble, while seniors Samantha Carbone and Xavier Norwood and sophomore Sebastian Major played with the South Jersey Symphonic Band. Honors Band

 

 

Spencer served as conductor for the Olympic Honors Band concert on February 1st at WTHS that featured the talents of freshman Cassandra Cottone, sophomores Ian Snyder, Sebastian Major, juniors Anthony Musitano, Jack Crawford, and seniors Samantha Carbone, Christian Heil and Xavier Norwood. Honors Band


Junior Jack Crawford earned the honor of performing with the All-State Wind Ensemble, while senior Christian Heil earned the opportunity to be a part of the All-State Symphonic Band. Both bands performed in the Atlantic City Convention Center on Saturday, February 25th, and followed that up with a concert in the beautiful New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on Sunday, February 26th. 

 

“We extend our congratulations to band director Calvin Spencer and all these students for earning these well-deserved recognitions and for representing our band program at the regional and state levels with distinction,” District Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts Casey Corigliano said.
