WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Washington Township High School Actors’ Studio class, under the direction of Abby Molotsky, and the Creative Writing class, under the direction of Ashley Pierson, came together to present a One-Act Play Festival in the Play House on Monday, June 12, 2024. The festival was open to all WTHS students.
The Creative Writing class wrote one-act plays, and then the Actor’s Studio class directed, produced, and acted in them. The partnership began months ago with students writing the plays, then casting them, and then working collaboratively on table reads, rewrites, and direction of the plays. On Monday, the three one-act plays were presented festival style throughout the day to students.
Sophomore Chase O’Brien (top), senior Mariah Groff (middle) and senior Kaitlyn Watson perform in a one-act play.
Actors (left to right) Marissa Carney (junior), Josh Wakeman (sophomore) and Zac Buono (junior) perform in the One-Act Play Festival.
