WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The preschool 3- and 4-year-olds at Kindle Elementary School donned their coziest, jolliest pajamas and brought their holiday spirit to school on Friday, as Kindle hosted a Polar Express Day to send the students off to their winter break.

The students were broken up into two groups and took turns making their way into the school’s main hallway, where two rows of chairs – three to a row and many rows deep – were set up to feel like the inside of a train. Kindle preschool teacher Kim Reuss took over from there, sitting in a rocking chair at the front of the group to read the book, The Polar Express.

The reading included sound effects and action, including teacher Melinda Williamson running through with hot chocolate, teacher Kelly Amato as the main character boy, and the most special guest, Santa Claus.

Kindle students were enthralled throughout the performance and were excited to embrace Santa when the reading was complete.
