Medications in School
In order for medications to be given by the School Nurse during school hours the following conditions must be met:
1) Medication must be brought in by a parent/guardian in the original container. Ask your Pharmacist for an extra bottle for medication needed at school.
2) Medication must be labeled with child's name, medication name, dosage and frequency.
3) Completed "WTPS Request for Pupil Medication to be Taken at School" with physician and parent signature. This ensures that there is both a physician's order for the medication and parental consent for the medication to be given in school. This applies to prescription as well as ALL over-the-counter medication (i.e. Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, Tums, cough drops).
Children are not permitted to keep cough drops or any other medication in the classroom.
