Hurffville Green Club Members Encourage Board of Education to “Go Solar”
Members of the Hurffville Elementary School Green Club, under the direction of teacher/advisor Tracy Colligan, shared their research on solar energy with the Board of Education at the Board’s work session on May 17th. The PowerPoint presentation was prepared by students Reagan Fritzch, Linzey Boyer, Jimmy Smith and Alyssa Spadafora and provided detailed information about why the District should "Go Solar!"
Their fellow “Green Clubbers” also were recognized as the meeting as the Board applauded the students’ interest in being good stewards of the planet and for seeking ways to provide clean, emission-free renewable energy as a solution to combat greenhouse gas emissions and to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. They were commended for their conservation efforts and for the persuasive information they shared to support their cause.
