E4Excellence through Equity, Engagement, and Environment
District Vision StatementThe Washington Township school district will promote a safe, inclusive environment that embraces differences and provides varied experiences to help all students build an academic foundation that will develop critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, social and emotional intelligence, and the confidence to be ethical, responsible, and productive citizens in a global society.
Washington Township is a district that values the rights of all students in their pursuit of strong, inclusive education and happiness in that pursuit. The district goal is Excellence in Equity, through the on-going work of the Equity Coalition, administrative initiatives and work in areas of leadership, ongoing work towards equity literacy, teaching tolerance, cultural proficiency, differentiated instruction, and student led initiatives as developed through our collaboration with the Anti-Defamation League.
Engagement is the essence of quality teaching and learning and communication. It is our goal to engage our students daily, in our schools and in our classrooms. We believe that students need to be vested in the learning process so providing both curricular and extra-curricular activities to foster that engagement is a critical element in our ability to achieve this goal. This goal also extends to our community as we believe active and ongoing communication and opportunities for our parents to engage with our schools is critical in our overall success.
Environment is a critical element in providing an optimal learning experience for our students. Our goal is to continue to provide the essential tools for our students to learn and grow, the technology that keeps pace with societal changes and expectations, clean and well-maintained facilities for our community, and a happy enthusiastic environment for our students to grow in.
Ensure and enhance the fiscal stability of the District, as we face decreased state funding by focusing on Public/Private Partnerships and the Districtwide Strategic Plan, to ensure that student achievement and student programs remain a top priority.
