Washington Township Public Schools to Celebrate National School Counseling Week February 4-8, 2019

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township Director of District School Counseling Jennifer Grimaldi has announced that District school counselors will be honored as Washington Township celebrates National School Counseling Week on February 4-8, 2019.

National School Counseling Week 2019, “School Counselors: Providing Lessons for Life,” is intended to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. National School Counseling Week, sponsored by American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.

“We are happy to announce the WTPS school counselors will be celebrating National School Counseling Week,” Grimaldi said. “This is an opportunity for our school district to highlight the tremendous impact school counselors have helping students achieve school success in Grades PK-12.”

District counselors and their supporters will take part in the ASCA’s daily “Photo Challenge” during the week. Signs are available on the ASCA’s website, www.schoolcounselor.org. They include:

Counselors will run activities in their respective buildings for students and staff, and Grimaldi will be holding daily raffles and giving out prizes to lucky counselors throughout the week of celebration.
