WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – It was a day to celebrate on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Chestnut Ridge Middle School. The school’s Vocalise all-girls choir gathered in the instructional media center, where they welcomed B101 FM on-air talent Jessie Jordan. Jordan was on hand to present the Vocalise with the second-place trophy they earned in the B101 Christmas Choir competition. With it came a check to the school for $2,000.

Vocalise, translated as “vocal agility,” performed their Christmas selection, “Carol of the Bells,” for Jordan and talked about their preparation and their reaction to their second-place finish. Jordan asked Vocalise director Katie Kershaw and her returning students if they planned to enter the competition in 2019.

“Oh, yes, and we’ve already got a plan to go for first,” Kershaw said.
