WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Grenloch Terrace Early Childhood Center kindergarten students were treated to a special guest on Monday, May 13th, as teacher Heather Leimberg’s brother, Greg Pollak, spoke to them about the weather.

ecc greg 4 Pollak is a broadcast meteorologist working for WNYT News Channel 13, the NBC affiliate in Albany, N.Y., where he’s been since June of last year. Prior to his current position, he worked at Albany’s ABC affiliate, NEWS10, for four years. Pollak’s presentation on Monday was highlighted by his creation of a mini-tornado and a mini-cloud within a 2-liter soda bottle. He had volunteers perform some “weather charades,” and he even showed the students the proper way to take cover in case of a tornado. At the end of the program, Pollak took questions from the eager kindergarten students.
