Board of Education Recognizes Hurffville Elementary’s “First in Math” Program

The Washington Township Board of Education presented certificates of recognition to Hurffville Elementary School BSI math teachers Kellie Kelly and Lynda Venuto following their presentation on the school’s First in Math program at the November 26th Board of Education meeting.  First in Math is a curriculum supplement that gives students the fundamental skills they need to achieve their academic goals by delivering fluency in basic addition, subtract, multiplication and division.  It also advances higher-order thinking skills such as mental math, problem solving, pattern sensing, reasoning and number sense through deep practice.

The Board also recognized students Jackson Wylie, Jacob Shachar, Luke DiMattesa and Dylan Dael who achieved “Grand Champion” status in the program for their math mastery and success.
