COVID Concerns Bring Changes to WTHS’ Traditional Toy Drive

toy drive Ongoing concerns over COVID-19 will bring changes to Washington Township High School’s 25th Annual Holiday Toy Drive, but members of the school’s junior and senior class councils, which historically sponsor the event, will not allow a pandemic to steal their holiday joy.

In years past, the group hosted the event in a 24-hour window, with a sleepover in the school’s Core lobby and an appearance by Santa.  Because social distancing will prevent this format, students, working in cohorts of up to 12 people, will be collecting toys from community members outside of the Core Building on the following schedule:

                               Tuesday, December 8, 2020: 12-8 p.m.

                               Thursday, December 10, 2020: 12-8 p.m.

Though masked and distanced throughout the event, all student participants promise to showcase a festive enthusiasm while remaining committed to their mission of making the holiday season brighter for children in the community.

Senior class advisors Shaun Giberson and Natalie Taylor, along with junior class advisor Carol Costello, are overseeing the project.

Washington Township High School is located at 519 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in Sewell.  Please ensure that all donated new toys and gifts are unwrapped. Monetary donation also will be accepted.
