Ready for Wellness
District to Host Free Middle School Virtual Family Wellness Night on Thursday, February 25th
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – The Washington Township Public Schools will be hosting an all-virtual Middle School Family Wellness Night on Thursday, February 25, 2021, starting at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to join middle-level faculty and staff for a night of wellness and fun, with free workshops available in topics like internet safety, art, dance, music, technology awareness, tips for better sleep, organizational health for remote learning, among others.
Participants in the free night of learning and family fun will have a chance to play games to win prizes while learning ways to control stress, focus on fitness (do yoga, Zumba, and see how you can use items around your house to work out), create art, and more.
In addition, the program will feature keynote speaker Dr. Katherine Dahlsgaard, a licensed clinical psychologist who has specialized in the treatment of anxiety of children and adolescents for the past 15 years. She will speak about strategies to combat school avoidance. More information on Dr. Dahlsgaard can be found on her website.
Can’t make it to the event live on February 25th? Want to attend more workshops than time allows? Each of the presentations will be recorded and available on each middle school’s website in the days following the event.
