Washington Township High School Senior Yashahaya Brown Earns Gold in 110 Hurdles at State Meet of Champions

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – Washington Township High School senior Yashahaya Brown became just the fourth boy in WTHS history to win gold at the NJSIAA Track and Field Meet of Champions, outlasting the best competition in the state to win the 110 high hurdles on Wednesday, June 12, at Pennsauken High School.
Brown's time of 13.56 seconds in the final followed a 13.53 mark in the trials, which was the third-fastest in MOC history.
The three previous Minutemen athletes to take gold at the MOC were:
- Sal Fiorentino, Javelin (1974)
- Todd Dutch, 100 meters (2002)
- Devon Carter 400 hurdles (2010)
Brown will continue his athletic career at Rutgers University.
