Kathleen Gallinaro grew up in Washington Township and feels very fortunate to live in a community with so many opportunities. She and her husband, Louis, are and the proud parents of Hannah (14) and Jack (11). Her aspiration to serve on the Board of Education stems from the desire to provide an equitable and inclusive education for all children. Kathleen has been a proud educator at Woodbury Heights Elementary School for 20 years and has taught in various capacities including primary classroom teacher (grades K-3), financial literacy instructor, basic skills instructor, and STEAM teacher. She believes that teachers and educational staff deserve the utmost respect and support, particularly during this pivotal time in schools.
Kathleen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a dual major in English from The College of New Jersey. She holds a Master's of Reading from Rowan University where she attained certification as a reading specialist. Kathleen has varied interests in many facets of education, including equity, mental health awareness and support in schools, expansion and development of an inclusive curriculum, and helping students with diverse learning needs reach their full potential. She is excited and enthusiastic to work on the Washington Township Board of Education and hopes to make a difference.
