Connie Baker

Connie Baker is a 44-year resident of Washington Township where she resides with her husband Joe. She has been a lifelong educator and is retired. She has worked in school districts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Connie graduated from Holy Family University with a BA in Elementary Education, earned her MA from Villanova University in School Counseling K-12, and obtained her Supervisor’s Certification as Director of Pupil Personnel Services from Rowan University. In addition, she has extensive experience as a part-time consultant working in the Labor relations field. Connie has been active in the community, volunteering her time coaching Parks and Rec basketball teams, coordinating the Girl Scout Cookie Drive, and the Helping Hands Hoagie Sale. She served on school district committees and was PTO President of Chestnut Ridge Middle School. Her daughter, Allison Lawyer, MD attended Washington Township Schools, and her grandchildren, Eleanor, Ryan and Madeleine, attend Chestnut Ridge and Wedgwood Schools. It is through their school experiences that Connie sees first-hand the outstanding qualities of the Washington Township School District staff.
For the past seven years in retirement, Connie has regularly attended monthly Board of Education meetings. Her knowledge in child development, school settings, and labor relations bring a unique perspective to the Board. Her passion for public education is rooted in her commitment to students, families, and education. Connie is ardent about the issues facing the Washington Township School District and is honored to bring her education and professional experience to the School Board.
