Elayne Clancy
(Term Expires: December 31, 2027)
A 25-year educator at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, Elayne Clancy has lived in Washington Township for 41 years. Her excellence in the classroom earned her numerous Excellence in Teaching award including, in the 1999-2000 school year, the State of New Jersey Special Education Best Practice Award for Multiage Inclusive Classrooms, an award that she shared with three of her colleagues. Mrs. Clancy also was recognized as Thomas Jefferson’s 2013-14 Teacher of the Year.
She is a magna cum laude graduate of Glassboro State College (Rowan University) and holds degrees in K-12 teacher of the handicapped, elementary education and teacher of reading.
Mrs. Clancy’s son and daughter both graduated from Washington Township High School and have followed their mother’s career path as secondary education teachers in other school districts. She is, and always has been, an advocate for all children.
